Located near “Nishi-Kuwana Station” (JR Kansai Main Line/Kintetsu Nagoya Line/Yoro Railway Yoro Line)
and right next to Kuwana City Hall is Unagi Restaurant “Shinjō.”
Opened in 1981 as a new location for long-established caterer “Uojo,” which had been in business for over 60 years.
Please enjoy the “taste of Kuwana Shinjō” through the various eel dishes,
whose flavor and attentive creation have not changed since the restaurant’s establishment over 35 years ago.

うなぎアップ

Over 90% of the eel our restaurant uses is from the safe and reliable Mie-based brand, “Kiso Three Rivers Eel.”
The eels are thick; a single eel weighs in at 260 grams.
We also use what is known as Mie Prefecture’s legendary eel, Shizuoka Ōi River’s “Kyosui Eel.”

上うなぎ丼　

: ※Comes with eel liver soup, small side dish, pickled vegetables, and dessert ¥4,200; Our restaurant uses very thick eel.
Fluffy eel is also hidden inside the rice.

上うな重　

: ※Comes with eel liver soup, small dish, pickled vegetables, and dessert ¥5,000; Indulge in a thick and fluffy whole Mie eel.
Please enjoy the sweet aromas of jiyaki-style grilling and the flavors of the ingredients.

上まぶし

: ※Comes with eel liver soup, pickled vegetables, Japanese dashi broth, toppings, and dessert ¥4,200; Shinjō’s classic hitsumabushi-style grilled eel dish.
First, eat the dish as is, then eat with the toppings, then,
finally, enjoy by pouring the dashi broth onto the dish.

まぶし御膳

: ※Comes with soup, pickled vegetables, salad, Japanese dashi broth, toppings, and dessert ¥3,600; Hitsumabushi-stye Grilled Eel over Rice with salad.
Comes with a smaller amount of rice and is popular with women.

うなとろ膳

: ※Comes with soup, pickled vegetables, salad, and dessert ¥2,600; Our famous grilled eel is topped with easy-to-digest grated yam.
Comes with salad and is healthy. Popular with women.

長焼御膳

: ※Comes with eel liver soup, small side dish, pickled vegetables, and dessert ¥3,100; A popular menu item in which you enjoy the eel and rice separately.
The platter is custom-made to act like a hot water bottle to allow customers to enjoy warm eel until their last bite.

新城共水膳

: ※Comes with eel liver soup, side dish, pickled vegetables, and dessert ¥7,500; Set in which you may indulge in a whole eel, which has been carefully raised in Shizuoka’s Ōi River.
A third is cooked shirayaki-style to allow you to taste the eel’s natural flavor,
and the remaining two-thirds can be enjoyed in the popular hitsumabushi-style.; ※As there are days when we do not serve this dish, please inquire beforehand.

鰻かまぼこ

: ¥1,000; An original Shinjō fish cake, which luxuriously uses fragrantly jiyaki-grilled Kyosui eel.
Set of Shirayaki-style grilled eel (seasoned with only salt) and Kabayaki-styled grilled eel (grilled with sauce).

きも焼き

: ¥1,000; At our restaurant, the eel is filleted in the “harahiraki” style.
For this reason, the liver is not damaged and we are able to retrieve it in beautiful condition.
Please indulge in the fluffy and rich liver of the “Kiso Three Rivers’ Eel.”

うざく

: ¥1,000; Our famous kabayaki-style grilled eel and cucumber, which are carefully jiyaki-grilled.
A refreshing dish with seaweed and vinegar.
Recommended as an appetizer.
